Fall Festival & Parade

The Johnson County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the City of Vienna will once again be sponsoring the Annual October Fall Festival for the 6th year.

Beginning Thursday, October 1st, at 5:00 p.m., the Little Egypt Shows Carnival will start the motors up on rides for all ages to enjoy. There will be lots of food, crafts, candles, jewelry, handmade items and music.

The carnival will be starting at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and start at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Advance arm band tickets are currently being sold at the Chamber office, located in the Forman Depot, at the Vienna City Park. The advance arm band tickets this year will be sold for $12 per child per session. Arm bands at the carnival will be $15. Individual tickets for rides can be purchased at the carnival for $2 each. Rides take one ticket per ride per individual.

At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, the Chamber will be sponsoring a Chili Cook-off. A registration fee of $10 will be charged to enter this competition. Trophy’s will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place for best Chili, and a trophy will be awarded for the best presentation/display of their favorite chili recipe. This competition is open to any individual, group, or organization that feels they have the best chili. All entrants may sell their chili to the public after the final judging.

The Master & Miss Talent Show will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening this year. All Participants will be able to ride in the parade in a truck sponsored by Harper Ford on Saturday. This year’s Master & Miss Talent Show will include new age categories and is open to all surrounding counties. The Talent Show is open to boys and girls in three age groups: 3-5, 6 –12, and 13 –18 years of age. Contestants will be judged on talent, stage appearance, and poise. Talent can consist of various things your child would like to perform, such as: dancing, singing, comedy, hoola-hooping, karate, reciting, etc. First and second place awards will be given as well as runner- up and participation. The entry fee for the pageant is $10 per child. Contestants need to be present ½ hour prior to the event and supply their own props or music. Entry forms are available at the Chamber office.

Starting at 7:00 p.m. everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the music of “The Elements of Grace& Shawnee Worship Center”.
On Friday, Oct. 2nd, at 6:00 pm SIDEZ will be sponsoring a "Celebrity Apron Fashion Show" Models receiving the most donations win prizes. Men, Women, Children & groups are all welcome to model.

The J.C. Cloggers will be kicking up their heels starting at 7:00 pm and Karaoke with Fast Eddie will follow.
The Parade lineup will begin Saturday, October 3rd at 8:00 a.m. Participants are asked to pre-register in person at the Chamber office or by calling 658-2063. Participants will be notified of their line up location prior to the event. The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. Pre-registration is required before September 30th for all entries.Parade Awards will be presented at 11:30 a.m. at the Vienna City Park. First, second and third place trophies will be awarded to the following categories: Band Competition, Church Group, Patriotic, Equestrian, and Most Original. One award will be presented for Mayors Choice Award, and one award will be presented for Chamber Choice Award.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the music of the band “The Dixon Six”.
Starting at 1:00 SIDEZ will be sponsoring a "Cookie Jar Auction" 68 cookie jars have been donated with some jars having hidden prizes.

Once again, individuals can come out and sing to the crowd with Fast Eddie's Karaoke from 4:00-9:00.

On Sunday, October 4th, the 19th Annual Custom and Classic Car Show will be held rain or shine. Entry fee is $10 and non-judged vehicles are $5. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 entries. Wheel changes allowed for stock classes.
Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs and come out and enjoy food, games, music, entertainment, and a fun-filled weekend of events.

Booth spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis, at a cost of $40 per space, for the three day event. Informational booth spaces are $20 per space. Booth set-up times will be Wednesday, October 1st, from 9:00 am. – 7:00 pm or Thursday from 8:00 am. – 3:00 pm. These times will be strictly enforced to ensure the safety of all attending. Electrical upgrades have been made at the park, but individuals are asked to utilize gas grills whenever possible to prevent overloading of circuits.
