Johnson County Social Organizations Welcome New Members
The Johnson County Homemakers, under the auspices of the U. of I. Extension Service, have several units in various communities. Each unit meets monthly, usually at a member’s home, with a program or demonstration on an interesting and useful subject.
The Homemakers are very involved in the community, hold educational and cultural programs for the public, provide trips to unique locales, and offer a social outlet.
New members are always welcome. Phyllis Webb is the chairperson of the Homemakers County Board and can be reached at 618-995-2297.
The Daniel Chapman Chapter National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of their chapter in October at a special gathering. Any woman is welcome to joining, after showing proof of being in the genealogical lineage of a Revolutionary War soldier. Assistance is offered with the family research.
